Masao Yamamoto: Small Things in Silence

Masao Yamamoto trained as an oil painter before finding that photography was better at what he cared about, which is the way an image can bring back a memory. His prints are small and delicate, and he often overpaints, dyes or steeps them in tea. This is the third edition, out of print since the last one, and it surveys twenty years of his work, edited and sequenced by Yamamoto himself. “I try to capture moments that no one sees and make a photo from them. When I see them in print, a new story begins.”
