Part Time Retail Associate

Mara is seeking a Retail Associate to support in-store customer experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, community, and storytelling through intentional curation and will help create exceptional in-store experiences for Mara customers, while ensuring the shop is beautifully presented and thoughtfully operated every day. Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, knowledgeable customer service and thoughtful product recommendations.
- Regularly review, educate, and speak to the brands carried in the shop Independently open, close, and operate the shop; expertly and confidently manage store operations required for opening and closing
- Maintain merchandising standards and overall store presentation; restock items as needed, refresh areas that need attention, and ensure products are represented as intended
- Process sales, in-store checkouts, and fulfill online orders. Assist with receiving, restocking, and inventory organization; maintain a tidy and organized backroom
- Support operations and logistics for seasonal launches, events, and floor resets outside of shop hours.
- Proactively translate floor feedback and customer experiences into thoughtful product, merchandising, and brand recommendations to leadership team
- Collaborate regularly with Founder on product assortment, merchandising and brand strategy, Operations to ensure seamless execution, and Marketing to support events, seasonal launches, and in-store activations
- Additional hours required during the holiday season, with shift expectations leading up to Christmas Eve

- You proactively consider and share opportunities and recommendations to improve merchandising and customer experience based on your interactions and shop oversight
- You consistently ensure the shop is restocked, beautiful, organized, and fully merchandised
- You have strong sales conversion and average transaction value.
- You are accountable; Erin and the leadership team can confidently step away from the shop
- You curate positive and repeat customer interactions due to experience
Compensation & Perks
Competitive hourly compensation based on experience starting at $17/hr. Seasonal hourly increases during major launches and the holiday season. This role is a core member of the Mara team, not a seasonal position, with opportunities for expanded responsibility as the business grows.

Immediate Priorities:
- Hit the ground running; onboard, train, and begin to cover weekday and weekend shifts. Ideally, this looks like one 12 - 6 shift during the week, Saturday 10 - 2 or 2 - 6, and Sunday 10 - 6.
- Support Summer, Fall, and Holiday floor transitions.
- Maintain merchandising standards throughout each shift.
- Learn Mara’s product assortment, vendors, and brand story.
- Support holiday events and increased store traffic during EOY.
